It'd be nice if it could be accessed in an easier way with the about preffix. With "about:places", for example.

I don't think there will every be an about:places page, Places is an internal technical name that is not something to expose to the final users. I agree that bug 697359 (ot its future incarnation) is what we want.

"about:library", then. The "duplicate" is something complex that nobody is working on. I just suggested a shorter address for what already exists.
