1382367 - When opening a new tab/page the tab title will occasionally say undefined

Seen on nightly (2017-07-19), on OSX 10.12.5

The tab title will sometimes say "undefined" instead of the page title or "New Tab"

STR:

While this happens very occasionally through 'normal' use, you can more easily reproduce this:

1. Copy a URL onto your clipboard (like "www.youtube.com")
2. Quickly and repeatedly press cmd-t, cmd-v, enter
3. After opening 10-20+ in quick succession you will see many tabs loading across your tab bar
4. Some tab titles will say "YouTube" some tabs with say "New Tab", but a few tabs will say "undefined"

Maybe related to bug 1382367, though I expect that didn't make nightlies today...

Can you reproduce in a clean profile? I can't reproduce with the steps in comment #0 off-hand.

Sometimes it takes 50 or so to see it. This is with stylo and activitystream on if that helps/matters. I can reproduce on a new profile, and am on today's nightly (2017-7-20) now too. I see you have a patch on the other bug, so maybe once that is in I'll try to repro again

I see this too sometimes, particularly on startup and Cameron mentioned on IRC that he saw it this morning. I'm on Windows.

When this happens, document.title appears to be a string with the value "undefined". This seems to be an activity stream bug.

AS is tracking 56, I think, and this seems like something we shouldn't ship.

Same underlying issue as bug 1382139 where the tab is opened before RemotePageManager attaches message listeners
