Build ID: 2002041711 Type of IMAP Server: MS Exchange/Intranet All messages in public folders are being seen OK. But when I try to reply to a message, I see alert: "An error occured while creating a message compose window. Please try again. [" When I have moved the message to local folder, I can reply to it without problems.

cc'ing bienvenu: Any idea?
I'd suggest generating an imap protocol log. http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#imap My guess is that it's a hiearchy delimiter problem. I'll see if we have an exchange server with public folders on it.
I tried this with our Exchange server (5.5) w/o any problem, so a protocol log would definitely be helpful.

I think, this may be a problem with non-ASCII characters in namespace at Exchange server. But NS 4.79 works OK
yes, the namespace is likely the problem. I don't have access to our exchange server to change the namespace to a non-ascii one - I'll have to wait for Karen to do that.
the problem is the comma in the folder name. dup of 133861 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 133861 ***

re-resolving fixed - it's only fixed on the trunk, not on the mozilla 1.0 branch, from which rc1 and rc2 are built. I was never given permission to check this fix into the branch.

Summary: Can't reply to message placed in public IMAP folder → MS Exchange: Can't reply to message placed in public IMAP folder
this has nothing to do with ms exchange, public folders, or even imap. It's just a problem replying to a msg in a folder with a comma in its name.

this is already fixed on the trunk, so it's in buffy already.

Greeg, can you verify if this is working correctly on WinXP SP1, I don't have XP. Thanks
So was this bug fixed or not? It's working OK for me in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030527 but that's not WindowsXP.
yes, it's fixed.
