From Bugzilla Helper:

BuildID: 2002041718
Whenever you type on the address bar
http://username:password@www.<website name> it goes into autocomplete/history.
Next time you type http://username:
The history bar shows the username/password. This is inconsistant with Netscape
4.X version, where, the history is not shown, nor is the password. This is also
a security issue.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to a password protected site by typing username/password on the url
address bar : http://username:password@site.com
2.Visit again, The history bar will clearly display the userid/password.
Autocomplete will contain the userid/password in clear text
3.
