Details

(Whiteboard: [LP_M1])

Device:  (Android );
Build: Nightly 56.0a1 (2017-07-30);

Prerequisites:
LeanPlum is turned on in Switchboard.
Focus is not installed on the device.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Fennec and a new tab.
2. Tap "Yes" on the "Try Focus" pop-up.
3. Leave Nightly running in the background.
4. Install Focus.
5. Return to Nightly and open a new tab.

Expected result:
The Focus promotion shouldn't be displayed in Nightly after installing Focus.

Actual result:
The Focus promo is still displayed after installing Focus, until you close and restart Nightly.
Thanks for testing.
Indeed the "is installed" check only happens at app start.
So this behavior is expected.

I can't think of a better solution for now.
But it looks like we'll never have a "real-time" notification from Android system.

My understanding is MMA SDK integration is planned for 56, changing the tracking nom from 57 to 56.
Track 56+ as MMA SDK is enabled in 56.
Hi Max, Joe, Wesly
Could you please advise my action item here?
I don't know how to fix this since I think it's a current design limitation.

good catch but current design limitation. Is there a way to have a check as well when open a new tab? May need further discussion w/ Product/UX as well. Put it into our coming weekly meeting agenda. (together with 1385853)

currently we only promote focus using dialog at app start so this bug seems to avoided by our current campaign setup.
We need to pay attention to this once we start using banner messages.

Thanks Joe, we actually are not promoting anything Focus related in release right now. We are waiting for the banners which I believe is coming in 59.
