User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Build ID: 20170810100255 Steps to reproduce: Got Nightly update Had multiple tabs going let Nightly restart --------- Alternative that also fails ----------- Have two tabs open: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/firefox www.mozilla.org/en-US Kill the primary FF process restart FF Actual results: One tab come up as if it were a new tab, all other tabs are totally blank Expected results: session should have been restored. Tried same with production level FF [currently 54.0] - works correctly - as had Nightly in the past.
Component: Untriaged → Session Restore
This problem only happens if extensions.allow-non-mpc-extensions is set to false (the default) if that about:config value is set true - it works correctly
Beta 56.0b2 (64-bit) is affected as well, in my case even normal Firefox restart will cause emptying all opened tabs in one of the windows stored in my session. This is extremely bad and needs to be fixed ASAP! (or you may loose some power-users from the beta channel!)
Just to clarify some things. In about:config I'm using: browser.showQuitWarning;true So that when I'm closing session, it asks me whether I want to save my session. This is what's broken now and the session is not properly restored during next start. However even Restart button is affected (I'm not sure if standard FF has restart button, but when using Classic Theme Restorer there is a Restart button in main orange Firefox button).
Firefox nightly updates now refreshes the tabs to what they were before restart.
I found this issue doesn't occur any more on Windows 10
If firefox crashes (did a kill -9 on the primary process), upon restart, the tabs reload. Cookies are not restored upon reload however, I have FF set to trash all cookies upon exit so the behavior is not unexpected. I am running Firefox on Ubuntu, 64 bit version.
Seems to be OK again now in 56.0b10 (64-bit).
