I see no difference from Internet Explorer other than that the scrolling text
does not appear, but that is probably a scripting issue.
Summary: China Merchants Bank uses xbm image → cmbchina.com - China Merchants Bank uses xbm image

In English:
Sorry if I didn't explain clear that the bug cannot be accessed just using a
url.
Background:
China Merchant Bank have a online function called Personal Bank, the Public
Version of that function can be access via IE. The Professional version needs
to install a client and should not be discuessed here.
To reproduce the bug:
1.You type the URL in Mozilla, then click the link ¸öÈËÒøÐУ¨´óÖڰ棩,which I
marked with red circle in the screenshot(see attachment 1 [details] [diff] [review])
2.There will be a pop up window to select your city, just click the button,
because we don't care which city, the button means "ok to continue". Maybe you
need to trust the certification of the site at first, just do that.
3.The the popup window will change to be a login window, see attachment 2 [details] [diff] [review]. In
the red circle marked area there is an random XBM image. The site use it to
protect from crack robot, as human can read it and retype it in the below box
easily while a bot will fail to do that.
Now is the result:
As you can see in attachment 2 [details] [diff] [review], IE can show the image correctly, but Mozilla
will fail on that.

Woops, I noticed it is already marked as blocked by 8031.

Can someone with PSM installed test this again now that XBM image handling is
implemented?

------- Additional Comment #9 From Jens Schlatter 2002-07-17 17:04 -------
> Why was this set to "Tech Evangelism"??
Because the reporter apparently believed we should evangelize Cmbchina.com to
use different, more common, image formats such as GIF, PNG or JPEG.
That's also why this bug was set to depend on bug 8031, which implements XBM
image handling (which we did not support until this was fixed about a month ago,
see my previous comment 8); now that that is fixed, this should actually be
fixed as well - but I couldn't confirm it.
On another note, the URL is a 404 now. http://www.bj.cmbchina.com/ works. It
seems to work for me, can anyone confirm?

why is this no longer tech evang? if this was not tech evang, it's a dup of
8031. marking as such.
the url is a 404 so I can't test. on the url chucker mentions, I can't find the
text that the screenshot indicates. if this is not fixed, please reopen.
