Filing a bug with the necessary whiteboard tag so the HTTPS Everywhere entry on https://arewewebextensionsyet.com/ has something to link to.

Bill - please could you mark any platform web extension feature requests or bugs that are blocking the roll-out of the web extension as dependants of this bug.

Since the above, they have updated https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere to say:

If you are using Firefox Nightly, you'll have to install from our developer (fully WebExtensions) channel, available here (https://www.eff.org/files/https-everywhere-test/https-everywhere-latest.xpi) (signature: https://www.eff.org/files/https-everywhere-test/https-everywhere-latest.xpi.sig).
