Steps to reproduce:

Not a reliable repro

* Navigate to URL
* Enter in address 118 Parker Road
* Enable aerial photography layers
* Zoom in/out and pan

Expected results:

Nothing weird

Actual results:

The map area goes black. Switching tabs doesn't help but switching tabs and coming back later seems to fix things. I've seen the same issue on Google maps.

Any particular reason you filed this under webrender? It doesn't look like you had webrender enabled. Moving to graphics general on the assumption that it was mis-filed.

It is still a problem that occurs regularly but I don't have reliable STR.

I’m seeing this as well, but maybe only 2-3 times a day with no obvious STR. This is on a new Macbook Pro 13", extensions I’ve got installed are Ghostery, 1Password Beta and ‘JavaScript Toggle On and Off (WebExtension)’ if that makes any difference. There doesn’t seem to be anything specific about the images that makes them go black, although I think I’ve only seen it on photos so maybe it’s a JPEG decoder thing? No obvious size contraints, anything from avaters up to full page images. I don’t remember seeing this before a couple of weeks ago, but it could have been there so let’s say a 1 month regression range. But without a specific image that always fails I’m not sure how to narrow it down effectively.

I just remembered this bug: haven’t seen it in at least a week if not two. As reproducability was always a problem I can’t easily bisect to see if a specific fix went in. Is anyone else here still seeing it?

Since they are black, that means we have all zeroes in a BGRX surface, which is right up the alley of bug 1380649. Please chime in on bug 1515150 which seems to be a new or different problem if you are still seeing missing images.
