Steps to reproduce:

Open a new tab.


Actual results:

When opening a new tab, pop-up hints are displaying even when browser.newtabpage.enabled is set to FALSE and when all three "new tab preferences" are de-selected.

See attached image (circled in red).


Expected results:

The newtab page should be blank if the user has requested this.

This is going to be an issue in educational environments where they want as little clutter as possible.  There has to be an easy way to turn off this **** via a mozilla.cfg file.

There's bug 1393489 for adding an API for activity stream to turn off or show onboarding.

For v57 UX prefer always show the logo whenever you finished all tours or not (will show watermark instead when user finished all tours).

For v56 user can check the checkbox in bottom left of onboarding overlay to dismiss the fox head and every onboarding stuff.

Or you can disable onboarding by set `pref("browser.onboarding.enabled", false)` in `mozilla.config`
