139628 - QuickSearch: current view not All Msgs finds results not in view and won't clear properly

Using apr23 builds, trunk and branch, win98 and linux rh6.2

Quick Search will find results which are not in the current view and sometimes
will return to full/AllMessages view when search is cleared, even though the
view was empty when search was initiated.  

I checked this is various builds and seems to work better, but not always
consistent in early march builds.  It's been around some time.

1.   Open a newsgroup with no watched threads and set the View to Watched
Threads.  View is empty.
2.   Exit and restart (to make sure view is set), go to newsgroup.
3.   Enter some text in the search text field which will match some messages in
the newsgroup, but obviously not in the current view (the current view is
blank).  Result:  search results appear in the thread pane.
4.   Don't select a search result, Clear the search.  
     Result:  search results view not cleared.
5.   Repeat and at step 4, select a message before clearing. 
     Result:  search results cleared, back to view (empty).  Every once in
awhile it sends you back to a full view.

Note:  the above scenarios are utilizing empty views to illustrate blatant view
starting points.  Same basic results happen if using populated views if using
Unread or Threads with Unread and searching for messages which are not in the
populated view before search, so the problem is not restricted to empty views.

Clarifying first sentence in main description:  When clearing, it depends on
what view and what steps taken, but we often don't clear the QuickSearch results
at all or sometimes return to the wrong view.  In some steps, we do clear properly.

Don't we have an old dup for this? I think hwaara filed that or may be mentioned in
some bug.
