From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:0.9.9+) Gecko/20020424 BuildID: 2002042403 Normally (at least with Opera and MSIE) .URL files (internet shortcut files) can be opened in the browser associated with them by simply double-clicking them in Explorer. If dragged and dropped, the link opens the same way. With Mozilla, if a .URL file is dragged and dropped onto Mozilla the file is interpreted and the page is opened. However, when opening the .URL with Mozilla from the command-line, or after associating .URL files with Mozilla and double-clicking it in Explorer, the contents of the .URL file are shown, rather than the link that the .URL file points to. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a .URL file by right-clicking the desktop, selecting New->Shortcut, and creating a shortcut to a web address. 3. Open the .URL with Mozilla using the command-line ( C:\Program Files\Mozilla.org\Mozilla.exe c:\shortcut.url ), or drag the .URL file onto a shortcut for Mozilla, or associate .URL files with Mozilla and then double-click the .URL file. Actual Results: The contents of the .URL file are shown in the Mozilla window. Expected Results: The page that the .URL file points to should have been shown.
