We should think about doing this (or at least bumping the minimum GCC version) for 59 or early in the next ESR cycle.  When we turn on C++14 support, I suspect people are going to be disappointed by GCC 4.9's support for C++14 not being super-great, and they will start clamoring for something better.  glandium, WDYT?

Hazard builds are still on 4.9 until they get a sixgill plugin for gcc6. Thankfully, that should be easier now that bug 1339989 is fixed.
