When filing(using the File Bookmark(s)... command) a bookmark to a bottom-level
folder, it leaves blank bookmarks(with no properties or item-menus) where the
bookmarks were. Not while dragging or filing into secondary folders.
Also when expanding folders, these fakemarks will also mimick some of the names
and corresponding menus of the folder's contents. Collapsing the folder will
cause the fakemarks to lose their menus and, once clicked or selected, their names.
While trying to test further by making a three folders inside each other, the
editor made another mimick-mark, named after the base folder I created (Test),
trying to delete this deleted both the last bookmark and the Test folder, but
not the fake Test, which still has its name, a folder-like menu availability,
and a bookmark icon.
Subsequent attempts to delete it failed, as do attempts at deleting the other
fake bookmarks(regardless their stolen status.)
In order for the fakemarks to take names they must be pushed sufficiently far
off the bookmark managing window.
Also(!Not part of this or any bug!) while trying further testing, I accidentally
deleted this report.(Aaaargh!)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create bookmarks(many) and at least one folder.
2.Add some bookmarks to a folder using the File Bokmark(s)... command
3.Expand and collapse the new folder.
4.Play around to see what else happens(along the lines of steps 1-3) and hope my
computer doesn't start smoking....
Actual Results: As described.
Closing the bookmark manager clears the blankmarks and restored my
not-really-deleted bookmark(but not the test folder)
Expected Results: Don't create fake bookmarks in place of old ones and, if
created, delete fake bookmarks properly.
Bookmarks imported from Netscape Navigator 4.08
My severity rating is biased(I could avoid it by using just the drag-n-drop
filing method.)
