Details
I have javascript options "open unrequested windows" unselected. So the first
time when I visit a website (for ex. www.nytimes.com) the popup does not appear,
but when I use to "back" button to get back to the site, the popup appears.

Yep. They're actually bypassing the popup-blocking code (very cleverly)... That
problem is fixed with a new pref, but there is no UI for this pref yet.
