Build 1999091509M11: Win32/NT4
(Linux and Mac: Seeing these problems in general. Will perform a detailed check
later.)

Overview: Select the Copies & Folders panel and the following do not match the
spec. http://gooey/client/5.0/specs/mail/accountSetup/accountSetup.html.

1. If the Mail Copies level is selected then it should display "Earthlink Copy
and Folder Settings".

Mail Copies and Folders
2. Layout: I don't see any pull down menus. I only see blank text boxes and
"Choose F" buttons.
Expect: Four of these should have an option to select a folder with a down arrow
key. These include:
- Place a copy in folder: "Sent" on "Local Folders"
- Keep message drafts in: "Drafts" in "Local Folders"
- Keep message stationery in: "Stationery" in "Local Folders"
- Keep message junk mail in: "Junk Mail" in "Earthlink Inbox"
Note: If you look at the spec it actually states "Local Files" but this doesn't
seem right because we are moving the messages to folders,
right? Shouldn't it state 'in "Local Folders"' or 'on "Local Folders"'?

3. Layout: Two border appear for the "Copy and Folder Settings" and "Special
Folders" areas.
Expect: Remove these borders since they are not in the spec.

News Copies and Folders
4. Layout: I don't see any pull down menus. I only see blank text boxes and
"Choose F" buttons.
Expect: There should be a pull down menu for "Place a copy in folder:" where it
states "Sent" on "Local Folders".

5. Layout: Extra entries.
Expect: Remove the following:
- Special Folders
- Keep message drafts in Draft in:
- Keep message stationery in:
- Keep junk mail in:

Summary: Account Settings Dialogs: Not Matching Spec, Copies & Folders → Account Settings Dialogs: hide drafts/stationary for news
not doing #1 for PR1.
#2 and #3 are fixed.
#4 is fixed

The more I think about #5, the more I disagree with the spec. I will take up
with jglick. You should be able to have draft and templates for news.
I'll be junk mail never makes it into the product, so that will eventually
become a non-issue.

"Local Files" should be "Local Mail" to match the wording in the Main Mail
window. Thanks for catching this one.

As for Special Folders for Newsgroups, I see no problem with allowing them.
Drafts and Stationary are fine.

If we ever do implement Junk Mail though, this probably does work for newsgroup
accounts since posting are sent to the newsgroup and not individuals (sent as
MAIL to invididuals). Is this correct?

Also, is it ok to say "Keep MESSAGE drafts in" and "Keep MESSAGE stationery in"
for newsgroups? Is it ok to call a newsgroup posting a 'message'? I suppose so
because the Toolbar still says "Get Msg" and "New Msg" when a newsgroup is
selected.

I will update UE spec.
It's a whole lot more work to change the wording just for news.... I'd really
rather not.

I'm willing to take that risk :)
Target Milestone: M12 → M17

Build 1999121612M12: NT4, Linux, Mac 8.5.1
Issue #1 is now being tracked using bug# 22093.
Issues #2, #3 and #4 are fixed.

Issue #5: In the 12/16/99 Mail Issues Meeting it was decided that News will have
the ability to:
- Copy to Sent Folder
- Save as Draft
- Save as Template

but "Keep Junk Mail" should be removed based on jglick's comments. Changing
subject to "Hide Junk Mail for News".
