People

(Reporter: gerald191146, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0
Build ID: 20171023100252

Steps to reproduce:

Opened a PDF file that is 256 MB with Firefox.
PDF opens a new tab in Firefox and loads up.

Actual results:

While loading the PDF, memory jumps from 19% consumed to 99% (used Task Manager to see this and I have 16 GB of RAM) slowly while fluctuating up and down.
Computer becomes unresponsive and slow while loading PDF file.

Expected results:

PDF opens up without issue and without using up so much RAM.

I suspect that it's the same issue as in bug #1410381, so I'm duping it there.
Reopen if it's not.
Could you please try to reproduce the issue on Firefox 56 (stable version) and on Firefox 57 (beta version)?
