Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020417 BuildID: 2002041711 When mail is launched, then closed again, it will not re-launch from either the quicklaunch icon on the taskbar nor from the Browser. Once all browser windows are closed, Quicklaunch still does not allow 'Exit Mozilla' option, and mail will still not launch, even though mail is not apparently open. Task Manager / Three fingered salute must be used to completely exit mozilla including Quicklaunch before mail will launch again. Problem occurs only when Quicklaunch is active. Exiting and restarting Mozilla completely (using the quicklaunch taskbar icon menu to 'Exit Mozilla') before attempting to re-launch mail after closing it avoids the issue until mail is next launched then closed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Load Mozilla Quicklaunch 2.Launch Mail (from either the quicklaunch or browser menus) 3.Close Mail 4.Attempt to launch mail again. Actual Results: Mail does not launch at all, and the Quicklaunch menu greys out the 'Exit Mozilla' option, despite the fact that no mozilla apps are visibly running. Expected Results: Mail should have launched, and when all mozilla windows are closed, Quicklaunch should allow 'Exit Mozilla' option from the taskbar icon menu.
Reporter: DO you use a third-party Theme ?
A third party theme is in use - GrayModern (Author of the theme is Johannes Schellen - Johannes@epost.de) If this launch problem is due to a fault in loading the theme, the behaviour I would expect would be to ignore the broken theme and load either Classic or Modern, as is done when an attempt to load a broken theme is made from the preferences dialog.
The Theme contains a version string. Mozilla will ignore an outdated Theme but it can't detect a Theme with a correct version string (and mozilla will never be able to detect this) Please try it with modern or classic and if this is fixed, install a new Theme version (uninstall the old one first). (Johannes Schellen fixed the pinball Theme and I think he also fixed the GrayModern)
Reporter, we are trying to verify quick launch specific bugs. If you have tried what is suggested in comment #3 and it works, please update this bug. If not then reopen it. I will resolve it a dup of 144027 and verify it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 144027 ***
