Details

I've been using the product (RC1.0) for about 24 hours, and until I came here, I
was not getting active Back/Forward buttons. (I'm serious. They just now "came
on.") I had multiple options in my Go menu, and I know for a fact that I had
indeed gone Forward more often than I was allowed to go Back. I think I even got
a menu of greyed-out previous links once on the Back button, but they didn't work.

Anyway, it seems to have fixed itself, so this is just an FYI.

Did you perform a clean install? (After uninstalling eventual older version of
Mozilla)
