User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0 Build ID: 20171027220059 Steps to reproduce: Navigate to http://uk.reuters.com/ on MacOS 10.13 & Nightly 58.0a1 2017-10-17. Nightly -> ~18% CPU for the NightlyCP Web Content process (after Bug 1409166 fixed) Firefox 56 -> ~50% CPU for the Web Content (presumably because 1409166 not fixed) Disabling Servo makes no difference. There may be nothing you can do, Chrome struggles as well with ~13% CPU. Safari handles it well at ~1% CPU I can't see any visible animations or whatever but there may be a good reason for the CPU load, it's not awful just higher than I would expect. Cheers Actual results: High CPU Expected results: Low CPU

I don't think this is regressed by bug 1409166. Also it's not clear to me that it's related to animations, there might be other room for improvement though.

I did get a profile. https://perfht.ml/2gLBpOl There is nothing particular for animations.
