User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0
Build ID: 20171027220059

Steps to reproduce:

Navigate to http://uk.reuters.com/ on MacOS 10.13 & Nightly 58.0a1 2017-10-17.

Nightly -> ~18% CPU for the NightlyCP Web Content process (after Bug 1409166 fixed)
Firefox 56 -> ~50% CPU for the Web Content (presumably because 1409166 not fixed)

Disabling Servo makes no difference.

There may be nothing you can do, Chrome struggles as well with ~13% CPU. Safari handles it well at ~1% CPU

I can't see any visible animations or whatever but there may be a good reason for the CPU load, it's not awful just higher than I would expect. Cheers

Actual results:

High CPU

Expected results:

Low CPU

I don't think this is regressed by bug 1409166. Also it's not clear to me that it's related to animations, there might be other room for improvement though.

There is nothing particular for animations.
Changing component based on comment 2.
