From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020417 BuildID: 2002041711 The web page http://www.larussians.com/winter_right.htm freezes mozilla and makes Windows XP inoperable; ctrl-alt-del doesn't work, and "Start -> Turn Off Computer" although (sometimes) selectable simply does nothing. A hard power-down and reboot was needed. I confirmed this 3 times on my machine (Sony Vaio PCG-R505DL). To reproduce, boot Windows XP, open Mozilla Navigator, and go to above URL. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot Windows XP 2. Open Mozilla Navigator 3. Open URL http://www.larussians.com/winter_right.htm Actual Results: Renders OS inoperable. Expected Results: OS should continue to operate and Mozilla should display the page. 1. In the preferences, I have all but bottom three of the eight Scripts & Windows options disabled. 2. I use the "classic" theme. 3. I have "prefs.js" read-only to lock in my settings (due to a separate intermittent bug that causes it to reset prefs.js and lose my email settings... still trying to pin that one down...). (I don't know if any of these affect the problem.)
This is a known performance bug.... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 64516 ***
