[Prerequisites]:
- "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled" is set to "false" in about:config

[Steps to reproduce]:
1. Open a new tab.
2. Click the gearwheel button from the top right corner of the page.
3. Observe the button.

[Expected results]:
- The button is correctly rendered.

[Actual results]:
- After about 1 second half of the button is obscured by a white rectangle.

Can you try this on the latest nightly and see if the issue persists?

The issue is no longer reproducible on the latest Nightly.
