Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.49.1
Build ID: 20171022013242
Steps to reproduce:
Made sure middlemouse.contentLoadURL is true.
Copied "mozilla.org" with a mouse and tried middle-clicking on a new tab.
Actual results:
Nothing.
Expected results:
SeaMonkey 2.48 (and any previous version) would open mozilla.org.
SeaMonkey 2.49.1 will happily try to open something that's not an URL (like "C:" or "Magic: The Gathering") as long as it starts with a letter and has a colon inside. But it won't open actual websites (like "mozilla.org" or "lac.pl") without a "http:". Yes, "http:mozilla.org" works, no slashes needed.
This also happens in IceCat 52.3.0, but does NOT happen in Firefox 56.0 - maybe it is some kind of Firefox ESR 52 bug?
Is this Linux specific?
> middle-clicking on a new tab
Could you explain that?
Is that middle-clicking on the 'Open a new tab' "button"?
