1. Go to twitter.com
2. Log in
3. Start composing a new tweet (check that 280 characters are enabled - there will be a circle glyph to show size in the bottom right)
4. Hold down a
5. Watch as framerate plummets past about 100 characters
Profile from devtools attached. Most of the time seems spent in paint, which spends over 100ms per frame.
