From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0rc1)
Gecko/20020417
BuildID: 2002041711
I've configured Mozilla to access my 3-rd party (non-ISP) IMAP account. Every
time I send mail the msg is sent but the client fails to move msg to "Sent"
folder with a "Permission Denied" msg. Afterward when I try to close the msg
window it asks if I want to save the msg in the "Drafts" folder. If I say yes
it fails to write it again with the same "Permission Denied" dialog.
It is worth noting that there is no Drafts or Sent folders on the IMAP server.
There are under "Local Folders". Neither one of these folders has any messages
in them. I can, however, drag messages into these "Local" folders without an error.
I suspect this error is caused by the client trying to access Drafts and Sent on
the IMAP server even though these folders do not exist.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start with IMAP account that doesn't have Sent or Drafts folders
2. Setup Mozilla to access this IMAP account
3. Create a New message to a valid email address
4. Click send button
Actual Results: - A "Permission Denied" Error dialog will pop up.
- The email will arrive at destination address
- The message will not be in the "Sent" folder under "Local Folders"
Expected Results: - Email is successfully sent
- no dialog pops up
- message is successfully copied to "Sent" folder
I suspect this error is caused by the client trying to access "Drafts" and
"Sent" on the IMAP server even though these folders do not exist. Perhaps
Mozills should create these folders if they don't already exist?

After filing this bug I've found I cannot create any folders as a peer to Inbox,
only children. If Mozilla did try to create folders at this level it would have
failed.
