User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:56.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/56.0
Build ID: 20171003222101

Steps to reproduce:

Firefox 57.0 on Linux x64
default/blank Firefox profile
one Firefox window, one tab
open the attached XPI

Actual results:

The XPI adds a browserAction icon to the current (only) tab. OK.

Then press Ctrl+T to open the second tab. browser.tabs.onActivated() briefly shows a browserAction, but then it disappears. That's a bug.

If you open any more tabs (with Ctrl+T), those get a browserAction that persists. OK.

Expected results:

On opening the 2nd tab, browserAction icon should stay visible.
QA Whiteboard: The XPI uses WebExtensions API.

This may be included in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1317123 (which looks too complicated for me).

I tested this in Firefox 57 and I'm struggling to spot the problem on OS X. In Nightly pageActions have changed slightly as they are more integrated with Photon. Could you try it in Nightly please?

Btw, these are pageActions, not browserActions.

At this time we don't think there is enough information to move forward with this bug.
