From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0rc1) Gecko/20020417 BuildID: 2002041711 Hi Every version of mozilla I have tried (and EVERY Netscape 6.x release) freezes while opening that webpage. If I disable javascript and java then it works very well. Try to see. Sometimes it loads (VERY rare) so if it does when you try, try to refresh it and surely it will freeze. I think it has something to do with the Flash Player Plugin for Linux. I even upgraded to the latest 5.0 version. If i delete the plugin from the plugins directory (thus disabling it) I can load the page but every time I will be notified about the unknown type and wants to send me download the plugin. Is this totally Macromedia related or Mozilla too ? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Have Java and Javascript enabled 2.Have a Flash Player Plugin installed 3.Open the page www.home.ro 4.If it doesnt freeze try to refresh it (you had luck). Actual Results: The broser freezes. I can kill it with killall mozilla-bin (it did the same with Netscape 6.x, used killall netscape to kill it). Expected Results: Show the page :) OS: Linux 2.2.20 with openwall patch (www.openwall.org) Distribution: Slackware 8.0 X: Xfree 4.1.0 compiled from sources, NVIDIA binary drivers

I have just remembered. If I use Opera 6 with Java and Javascript enabled (and the Flash Player Plugin which is the same as the mozilla/netscape one) I dont hang/crash the browser accesing http://www.home.ro/ So it seems it is somehow Mozilla/Netscape 6.x related.
worksforme with trunk build 20020504 and branch build 20020503. could you try a nightly build?
Thanks for your answer. I will give it a try. But now I think maybe its not only Mozilla related. Last night, home, I have installed a Slackware 8.0 full install. Slack 8.0 comes with an older Mozilla (something 200106xx build), that Mozilla with tha same Flash plugin didnt crashed at all. I did opened the mentioned URL many times. I dont know what to believe. I will investigate this further. Please dont close the ticket now, I will be back with details in 2 days maximum. Thanks
it's possible something changed in Mozilla between 200106 and now to cause it to crash. it looks like the page uses Javascript to detect whether you have the Flash plugin or not. so if Flash is the culprit here, disabling Javascript would fix your problems. Are you playing audio in the background? (see bug 58339) ==> plugins for now

Hi You are right. The bug is ONLY triggered by FLash PLugin 5.0 and /dev/dsp busy. I have even tested Netscape 6, Netscape 4.77, Opera6 , all with Flush Plugin 5.0 freeze on loading that web page while listening to some music. :) The solution for now is to use the flush plugin that comes with Netscape 4.77 ( version 4), this plugin doest freeze any browser even when /dev/dsp is busy.
