User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0
Build ID: 20171129230835

Steps to reproduce:

- Downloaded any file of any kind from Firefox Quantum
- Clicked on the "Display progress of ongoing downloads" icon
- Open containing folder

Actual results:

- As I clicked on "Open containing folder", it changes my wallpaper

Expected results:

- It should open the containing folder of downloads, without changing my wallpaper.
This happens everytimes. I can reproduce forever.
Not a security bug.

Also, from the screencast, I expect it's your file manager (which opens up when opening the folder) that is changing the wallpaper. I bet opening the file manager any other way has the same effect.

Opening up the file manager in any other way doesn't affect the wallpaper. Already tested.
Just found the bug is confirmed on Ubuntu Firefox Package :

You are right. After opening specifically Nautilus in the applications menu, it replace my wallpaper with the default Unity wallpaper. This said, Firefox should adapt the desktop environment when opening the file browser ?
Attached image Temporary fix solution
In attachment a screenshot of the line to edit in /usr/share/applications/defaults.list in order to have Firefox opening Thunar instead of Nautilus when using XFCE.

I suggest Firefox to add an option to give users the choice of preferred file manager matching desktop environment.
I will mark this report invalid
Firefox didn't change the wallpaper and the default File Browser is taken from the defaults.list

Exact, that was clarified now. Thanks for support. Any chance Firefox to adapt the desktop environment or adding an option to choose the default file manager in near future ?
