User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Build ID: 20171107091003 Steps to reproduce: I have a few Calendars synced from Google calendar with the Provider for Google Calendar extension, with a couple thousand events each. Disk I/O is a bit slow, as the profile is on an NFS mount over a 100 Mb/s network. This is with Thunderbird 52.5.0, Lightning 5.4.5 (which does not seem to exist above), and Provider for Google Calendar 3.3 on OpenSUSE Leap 42.3. Actual results: Whenever the calendars are synced, the process the several minutes, or even tens of minutes, and during the process, Thunderbird becomes extremely unresponsive, and pretty much unusable. This happens all the time, since for some reason you can't set it to more than 60 minutes between each sync. Expected results: I don't expect the syncing to be quick (though it would be better if it only synced changed events, rather than the whole calendar), but the process should happen completely in the background, and not affect the responsiveness of the UI.
