User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; NetBSD amd64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Build ID: 20171214220016 Steps to reproduce: Long ago firefox stated that they don't allow modified binaries to use official Mozilla branding, and made it a configurable build option. I use firefox on netbsd/amd64 (it isn't even a tier-3 platform). Unsurprisingly, that means it has to be patched to function and other things, so we cannot use the Mozilla branding, so we build without passing --enable-official-branding. This means my build appears as 'Nightly', and unfortunately it means our packages were defaulting to having shield studies like the recent Mr Robot PUG ARG one, despite not opting into any extra telemetry. It would be nice if I can build firefox unbranded but still default to having studies disabled without requiring users to disable it themselves. Attached is a screenshot of the default settings on my machine.

There are unbranded builds https://wiki.mozilla.org/Add-ons/Extension_Signing#Unbranded_Builds and mozconfigs to support building them https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/search?q=add-on&path=
