Details
Currently the features have no tests, which is why things like bug 1426741 weren't caught before deployment.
We really must write some or else disable the feature.

Meant to add - another reason that tests are essential for this feature is that it's hard to test locally, since login doesn't work there (bug 1363722 / bug 1317752).
