On occasion, I'm seeing areas of web pages left unpainted. On some sites, like the www.tvguide.com site specified above, the behavior is consistent. Dragging the window off screen and back on, clicking 'Reload', covering and uncovering the window with other windows, etc., does NOT induce the page to repaint properly. Clicking on the unpainted areas does cause at least portions of the unpainted areas to be repainted. I've made some screen captures of the problem and posted them to my web site. The first image is from the home page of www.tvguide.com. The second is from the form for posting replies to message threads found at http://forums.appleinsider.com: http://www.shetline.com/bugpics/unpainted_areas1.gif http://www.shetline.com/bugpics/unpainted_areas2.gif (PS: Why do there seem to be two different bug report forms that I end up using, one with more prompts for more detail than the one I'm working with now?)
WFM, trunk 2002050608, XP. Reporter: Please always include build ID in bug-reports.
I was using build 2002041712 (RC1) when I discovered the bug. If the bug reporting form didn't come in a least two different flavors depending on how you get there, I probably wouldn't have forgotten to enter the build number :-P Doesn't one form have a specific field where you fill out the build number?
Kerry, I think I used to see this problem in RC1, but not in RC2. Can you retest using RC2? Otherwise, this is a duplicate, anyway.
So far I haven't seen it using RC2 either -- looks like it was fixed.
thanks - marking wfm Please reopen if you see this again.

This problem had gone away for me before Release 1.0, seemingly fixed, but now, using 1.0 (build 2002052918), I've occassionally, though more rarely, seen it crop up again.

URLs and screenshots will be helpful for this.
There are URL's to image captures in the original bug report... I'll repeat them here: http://www.shetline.com/bugpics/unpainted_areas1.gif http://www.shetline.com/bugpics/unpainted_areas2.gif Originally I'd reported this problem as being seen at: http://www.tvguide.com/ But the last time I saw the bug was at: http://www.appleinsider.com/ Not on this main page, but while filling out a reply to a message in a discussion group. The problem is, whereas the problem was fairly consistent when I originally reported the bug, I only see it sporadically now, and can't guarantee that going to a specific URL will demonstrate the problem. By the way, the last time I saw this bug, the unpainted areas did not immediately appear when I brought up the message reply form. These areas flickered in and out of existence as I typed.
I'm going to confirm this. I am still seeing this using FizzillaCFM/2002061014, but keep forgetting to take a shot or note the URL. It's completely random.

Okay, just really saw this happen, so I feel better about confirming it now. FizzillaCFM/2002061014.
See [http://greg.tcp.com/mozilla/Test%20Cases/142691/Screenshot.png]. “Course 1” and “Other Courses” graphic corrupted after “Save Page As…” operation.
Sending to Layout to get this out of Browser-General; may end up in one of the Image components.
