(Whiteboard: [fxsearch])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Build ID: 20171206182557 Steps to reproduce: After typing some words in the address bar, the "one click" search engines suggestions appear on the drop-down under the address bar. However, since there are bookmarks and other suggestions above it and they are filled asynchronously and added ad hoc, the search engines suggestions often jump place (down) and this results in missing the mouse-click on your selected search engine. Expected results: Move these search engine suggestions to the top so they don't jump. (Or another fixed-place solution.)

Note you can use the keyboard UP to direct move to the engines, or even ALT+DOWN/UP to move through them. P3 until we hear back from UX.
Priority: -- → P3
(In reply to Marco Bonardo [::mak] from comment #2) > Note you can use the keyboard UP to direct move to the engines, or even > ALT+DOWN/UP to move through them. I tried it and think it's kinda useless (timing wise), at least for my user profile, but thanks. > P3 until we hear back from UX. Yeah, I agree it's not a big priority, though it's important for less frustration as I'm sure lowering frustration is better for Firefox in the whole (even though there is only 1 person reporting this). (Not arguing, just some thought. ;-)) Not sure what UX is, but I'll leave the bug flow to other peeps.. :-)
P.S. I forgot to mention that it also results in going to that mis-clicked URL. Just FYI.

I am a little confused about the STR on this bug. Are typing, and then mousing, and by the time you get to the footer the results have changed thus changing the height of the results pop-up?

Dunno what STR is, but yes, that's the jist of it, also áfter having stopped typing, not sure if you left that open or not.
