Steps to reproduce:

I attempted to add a bookmark to a new folder and give that new folder a chosen name


Actual results:

unable to give new folder a name when bookmarks open


Expected results:

New Folder should have a chosen name

Can you describe what happens when you change the name of the bookmark folder? Does it resets immediately or on the next sync?

Hopefully this is the same as this [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/922693] bug which has been around forever, at least for me in xubuntu. My current version 58.0.2 (64-bit) for ubuntu; Julie would the nightly fix have been pushed to the main branch yet i.e. should the fix be working for me yet, or is this still pending since you've not gotten a response from Dan? Cheers!

Not sure if the above is the same as this ...try to add a new folder of a sub-folder to save a bookmark in...click Choose...find the folder you want...click New Folder...it times out before you can type a new name so it just has the name New Folder.

The team sent this solution...it seems to have worked...remember to save bookmarks first so you can import...
I deleted both old profiles and created a new one.

Unclear. Works for me using these steps:
1. Click the bookmark star.
2. Click the drop-down menu next to "Folder:" and pick "Choose…"
3. Click "Bookmarks Toolbar" in the lower pane.
4. Click "New Folder" button.
5. Type in a name for the new folder, then press Enter.
6. Click the "Done" button when finished.

jb.online / team's fix didn't work for me. Nonetheless this seems to be an increasingly priority for the team per comments by Julie ITT & Mark in bug697649 thread.
