User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0
Build ID: 20171114221957
Steps to reproduce:
Firefox starts normal everyday until, suddenly, the homepage loads extremely slow.
No changes from one day to another one, no themes, no addons, this can happen on a clean Firefox installation.
There is no way to reproduce, manually, the problem, because it appears randomly, from one day to another one, without any concrete action or behaviour
GNU/Linux Debian Buster (testing), 64bits, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel i3 (I think hardware doesn't affect), Firefox is only configured for History-OFF, Google for homepage, no addons, no themes, hardware acceleration on or off doesn't solve the problem
Actual results:
When the problem appears, each start of Firefox means to wait more than 10 seconds to load the homepage (doesn't matter if it is Google, Amazon, Yahoo or the default Firefox homepage)
Tip: This problem disappears (solved temporaly) if I delete completely the folder .mozilla (works also deleting only the profile's folder) at the user's folder (/home/user/.mozilla) and start again Firefox (clean and need for the basic configuration, simple, homepage, history off. This solution can last for some time, but, randomly, the homepage will, again, load slowly
Expected results:
It should open the homepage faster and like normally does.

Please see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Performance/Reporting_a_Performance_Problem for more information. Thanks!

Ok, I've tried to install the Gecko_profile_extension, apparently it does, but it doesn't appear the icon neither on the top menu bar nor in the extension's list to drag on. Weird, it appears (empty icon) if I reset the customization options but can't drag or use it
So I can't use that extension for the report, sorry.

Finally I could install the plugin to extract the report. I attach it to be evaluated.

@Alik, could you please try to reproduce the issue with the latest version of Firefox release (57.0.4) and with the latest Nightly build (59.0a1)?
If it is reproducible on Firefox and Nightly, could you please use the Gecko Profiler add-on to collect performance profiles using these versions and then provide the links?

Ok, now, instead deleting default profile's folder as I said at the first post, I've created a new profile which it works now, so I have one (default) with the mentioned issue, and the new, without the issue (will it fail later?, not at the moment)
I'll try to get the 57.0.4 and 59.0a1 releases if possible and wait for the failure, but as I can't 'force' the issue as it appears itself I don't know when it will be possible to provide the info.
Debian repositories (buster) still don't provide those releases, just unstable sid, I think.
Until then, thanks so much for your interest.

Hi Alik, have you encountered this behavior anymore since our last discussion?
Flags: needinfo?(info)
Hi again, yes, from time to time, the first homepage start slows for more than 10 to 20 seconds, again I delete the profile (or create a new one) and everything works smoothly.
I just checked that this, normally, happens after a Debian's system update, normally with Synaptic but I can't say that's the trigger.
Anyway, I consider it's something specific and, probably, only at my system so I suggest to close the Bug, by far I think I'm the only one who reported this.
I moved to Chromium just to check if something is wrong on my machine and I haven't found any issue like the reported one.
Many thanks, as I said, better to close the bug as there are no similar reports.
