1429983 - Have Firefox restore previous session automatically when killed (system shutdown or otherwise)

Steps to reproduce:

Run Firefox and open a couple of tabs. Then kill the main process (if you opened it from the command line, you can press Ctrl-C).

Open Firefox again, you'll get the about:sessionrestore page, but pressing "Restore session" will work as expected.

It happens everytime. The session is restorable, but you have to do it manually.

You probably are thinking of Bug 1420598. But there isn't information on how to reproduce the issue and the title seems to imply that it does not always happen, even though it does.

Bug 1413315 is also related, but on another issue, namely the greying out of the restore session option.

I usually press the power down button to initiate shutdown and so every single day, when I start the computer, Firefox greets me with the error about no being able to restore the session. I have to press then the "restore session" button and it always works flawlessly, with containers and everything.

By the way, I disagree with the renaming of the bug and the severity, it's not an enhancement, it's about completing what Firefox evidently set out to do, and could have done, because pressing the "restore session" in the "sorry" page brings up the last session every time.

If there is a way to get more information on the issue, or debug it, just tell me how and I will try.

It would nice if Firefox will give us at opening after crash/process killing a choice if we want to open last saved session.
