Error when exporting addressbook with non-ascii name
Build: 0509 branch
OS: Windows XP with JA locale

Steps:
1. Bring up Address Book
2. Choose a address book, say personal.
3. Select Tools|Export
4. Save as any type (ldif, csv, txt) and give non-ascii name. Click Save.
5. Get a Component Failure error

I can't reproduce this on SC windows 98 using the same build.
Attached image screenshot of error
I used JA hiragana as a file name.
Keywords: intl
What name did you use? I don't have this problem using a hiragana/katakana name
on a W2K system.
I used English XP with Japanese locale when I see this problem.
Hiragana/katakana/kanji didn't work.
But on Japanese XP, there was no problem.
I have one basic question. Should this be working on English XP with JA locale?
Or Should I just use Japanese XP system?
cc to racham, sspitzer
This should be working on an English XP with locale set to Japanese, since I
don't see this on an English W2K with default locale set to Japanese. I'll check
my English XP tomorrow.
i can reproduce this error on WinXP with japanese locale.
On an English XP + multiple language UI Pack system, on control panel ->
Language & Region selection, there is a place to let the user choose native
language for the programs that can't handle unicode file path. Unfortunately our
program belongs to this group. After we select Japanese for that option the
problem is gone.
