Steps to reproduce:

Tested in both Ubuntu 17.10 and Android 7.0.

1. Open https://android.com/ (or https://web.archive.org/web/20180125234658/https://www.android.com/ in case the webpage is updated).
2. Scroll down to the text "Come on, get appy".
3. Try to browse the apps below.


Actual results:

Horizontal scrolling is very slow. Switching among the tabs (e.g. "Featured") take a long time. Only a few frames are drawn.


Expected results:

Smoother animations.

I've reproduced this issue on Android 7.1.2 and Android 8.1 using Firefox Nightly. (a bit of improvement on 8.1 comparing with 7.1.2).
I've also tried to reproduce on Ubuntu 16.04 using both Firefox Nightly 60.0a1 20180130223236 and Firefox Release 58.0.1 20180128191252, but for me the carousel and the featured menu works fine on desktop.

Given the above, moving this issue to Firefox for Android component.

Which device(s) is this performing poorly on?

Please attach a copy of about:support for all affected devices.

This seems to be behaving fine on Win10 and my Android Essential Phone.
