Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0
Build ID: 20180130223236
Steps to reproduce:
Currently when you have set the 'Search Bar' to 'Add search bar in toolbar' via 'about:preferences#search':
- You are able to add new search engines, the webpage you are browsing is providing.
This is visually indicated by a plus sign on the magnifier icon of the search bar.
But when you have set the 'Search Bar' to 'Use the address bar for search and navigation' via 'about:preferences#search':
- You are NOT able to add new search engines, the webpage you are browsing is providing.
There is no visually indication nor an option in the three-dot-menu of the "Awesome Bar".
Expected results:
The user should be able to add search engines in both preference settings, with same ease Eg.
- A visual indicating the webpage the user is browsing does provide search engines that can be added.
- An UI option to add the selected search engine from the webpage.

No problem. Filing duplicates accidentally happens sometimes. As long as you checked if a relevant report already exists, don't worry about it.
