143703 - Hangs when trying to create new bookmark folders or organize bookmarks

When I try to create a new bookmark folder in the Bookmark Manager, strange
things happen. Originally, I was trying to import my bookmarks from an older
version of Netscape. I believe this resulted in a folder that had the name
"---". Thereafter, if I try to create a new folder at the same level, instead of
creating a new folder, it just renames the "---" folder with the new name.
Frequently while I'm doing this Mozilla will hang and start to take up lots of
CPU resources, so I have to kill the app. Even after killing the app by right
clicking and "kill app", the process seems to still hang on and I have to
manually enter a "kill" command. 

I will try to start with a clean bookmarks file and see if I can repeat the
behavior there. Perhaps I can also send you my bookmarks file.

This is the main bug that I've encountered that affects usability, apart from
random crashes on web sites. 

Sorry if this is already listed. I didn't see it in the frequently reported
list, and I got a crash when trying to do a general search.

reporter: can you try with a clean profile and a newer build? also, please post
the offending bookmarks.html as an attachment. (DEC? Really?)

there are no linux-alpha nightlies.  not even 1.1a or 1.1b releases.

the bugzilla-search crash is bug 94734.  if you make your own build (from SRPM
or just grabbing a tarball), that bug will not show up (unless you have RH7.2,
in which case, you need one of the patches from bug 94734!).

if you are still seeing this, could you attach (in addition to your bookmark
file) a stacktrace from gdb?  if you aren't seeing this, could you mark this
WORKSFORME.
