Many duplicate characters in search box
See attached screenshot which resulted from typing the string "many char". This is fairly reproducible, it happens roughly half the time I search for something.
I also perceive a stutter in the UI immediately before the extra characters are printed. Here is a profile:

Andrew, does this still happen to you? Is this on Linux only? Does this happen on versions other than Nightly?

No, this hasn't happened in a couple of months at least (and I used to be able to reproduce it very consistently). The underlying issue must have been fixed.
