Steps to reproduce:

I went to the privacy and security settings and clicked on "change blocklists"


Actual results:

I had the choice between a soft and a strict disconnect.me list


Expected results:

The option to add a list of my own.
There are many people out there collecting trackers and writing their own lists.
This would  catch more tracking hosts and allow for faster updates . Also we would be more independent from one specific source.

Peter, is this something you think we'd build in the product (therefore P3/P5) or that we'd rather leave to WebExtensions?

I'd like to upvote this. Vendor lock-in is something that the "other guys" do. Let's empower our users.

Today I wanted to whitelist a company on the disconnect.me level 2 list without downgrading all the way to the level 1 list.

Seems like it should be really easy to implement too, just a single about:config URL setting and referencing that instead. Don't even need to change the settings pages, as long as it is available in about:config

I would implement this myself except that I've never developed on Firefox and the setup process seems like it would take 10 times longer than writing the feature, so I'm probably not the right guy to do it.
