Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0
Build ID: 20180207210535

Steps to reproduce:

On linux system, opening mkv file from download panel UI popup by clicking on it.

Actual results:

fails to find correct mime and tries open it with umount, sometimes gedit if it exists on the system.

Expected results:

Should use the same MIME lookout as from Download Library because opening mkv file from Library works fine and uses correct file association.

Should be unified behavior.
umount is not specified in mimelist nor in firefox settings (Save file set for Matroska).

Sincerly, opening files from Download panel never worked for me across distros for years now.

I managed to get it working by deleting ~/.config/mimeapps.list and regenerating it.

Also I remed all other mimeapps.list on the entire system and It works now.

There is still inconsistency sometimes but I don't mind now.
