User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0 Build ID: 20180206200532 Steps to reproduce: Used firefox as normal, browsing websites. I have not installed any extensions or addons. Firefox opens a tab called about:pioneer. On reading the tab there was no option to say 'dont open this again'. There are instructions for leaving the Pioneer program once you are enrolled, but I am not enrolled as I have not clicked the button to do so. Therefore I closed the tab. Actual results: The new tab opened again a day or two later. Expected results: The tab did not open again.
Ritu, do you know who is in charge of the pioneer study?

Thanks for the ping Ben. Rehan, I see that you sent the intent to ship email for the pioneer study. Matt, FYI.

This is not related to a particular Pioneer study. Pioneer is an opt-in program and we are actively recruiting users to participate. Every day we ask a small random sample of users if they are willing to join the Pioneer cohort. If you do not respond to the initial prompt on the first day, we ask a second time. You should NEVER be prompted more than twice. If you see the about:pioneer prompt again please let us know.

Thanks Matt! I was digging through code trying to figure out what might be happening.

I think it will be a good idea to see what are megan's results.

Interesting, I have to admit I haven't seen the popup a second time, so the code would seem to be working as designed. That said, I'm not sure it's a good idea to ask twice when there's no option given to opt-out of being asked again. Perhaps something to consider the next time you need to popup a consent webpage - either give the user an explicit optout option, or do not ask again.

In this case, I will mark the issue as Resolved. Megan, any time the tab opens again for you or causing any issues, please feel free the reopen this bug.
