Steps to reproduce:

State: Firefox browser open with one tab. 
Site: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/ (Gmail)
Specifics: Gmail has outlook styled double pane view, with mail on the left and mail view on the right. The left most side contains a folder view and chat members view.

1. Click on a mail and hold using mouse.
2. Drag the mail to probably drop into a label.


Actual results:

Mail gets dragged correctly and can be dropped into a label, but it also causes unnecessary text selection during the mail dragging.


Expected results:

Mail getting dragged correctly while there is no text selection occurring.

this seems duplication of Bug 1241856

I checked the bug, and yes it seems to be a duplicate. I don't understand why it didn't pop up in the bugzilla search.
