1446765 - Firefox android stopped to hand over .m3u to vlc and fails playing it itself

Steps to reproduce:

I use OpenWebIf to stream sat-tv from my local enigma2 box (satellite receiver). It provides an stream.m3u-file for each channel with an http-address.
Since Firefox 59.0.1 stopped handing over the m3u file to vlc.


Actual results:

Tested Firefox android stable 59.0.1, android beta 60.0b4, android nightly 61.0a1 BuildID 20180318100057 (all playstore versions) 
Firefox opens a new tab with a black player and is not useable more. (cannot open other sides, menus in the options are greyed out) and needs to be closed by the android "task manager" (wipe right)


Expected results:

Either Firefox plays the the mpeg(-ts?) or open the m3u in vlc.
(the enigma2-box provides either mpeg 1/2 audio, mpeg avc, several mpega and teletext streams tells me vlc-codec-info)

(hand over to vlc is working on same machine on Android browser of the Fairphone Open 18.03.1 (android 6), Windows Firefox 59.0.1 and Linux Firefox ESR 52.6.0)
