Text dropped in the urlbar is instanly resolved/searched, preventing the user from modifying it

Details
This includes adding a search keyword in front of the text.
Also this prevents the user from changing his mind and not load anything at all.
Or maybe the user didn't want to load anything, but dropping in the urlbar was (would be) the simplest way to edit some text quickly.
I don't know how long this has been happening.

This was a deliberate change we made for security reasons. You can still copy/paste into it.

Out of curiosity do you have a bug number for this change?

By the way it feels more like this change is the security risk. If a user were to drop malicious url it would instantly get loaded.

But it would be visible in the Address Bar with its own info panel, instead of being a random string that Website X has convinced you to drag to the Address Bar.
IIRC it was bug 1321619, it's still closed for security reasons.
