https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/german-spelling-dictionary/?src=userprofile https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/french-spelling-checker/?src=userprofile https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/english-english-dictionary/?src=userprofile These extensions does not do anything except open a promotional tab on the new tab site with url valeuraddons.com/Search/ If i say in Popup for newtab site "undo changes" the whole extension is deaktivated. So the description is wrong and misleading. In permission is only "Access your data for all websites" No indication of access by the browser tabs. The same on https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/download-youtube-now/?src=userprofile but this extension works on Youtube, but redirects first to different pages It seems, that the developer only will generate website traffic with these extensions.
The first extension seems to be disabled, but I tested the other two and they seem to be working within acceptable parameters. The UI is a bit clunky, but the way they work is that you select a word in the page text and then click on the button to see the definition. The results were also not great, but that's a quality issue to bring up with the developer. As for taking over the new tab, that's a choice you have as a user. You can either accept the developer's conditions or not use the add-on. The opt-in UI is built into Firefox to ensure you have a choice. Clearly the developer is monetizing the add-ons this way, but as long as you as a user can choose whether you want that or not, there's no reason to block these add-ons.
