Build Date & Platform Bug Found:
Mac seamonkey build 1999-09-21-15-m11 installed on G3/400 MacOS 8.5.1
Overview Description:
Mail filtering does not work on under IMAP. Mail filters work under Win32 and
Linux. I manually moved my files on the Mac because bug 13733 (-installer
option) migration was not fixed in this build
Steps to Reproduce:
0) Under Communicator 4.x, configure a profile for IMAP and set up a imap mail
filter. My filter was to filter on subject and move the msg to a imap folder.
1) I removed my previous profile and mozregistry.dat file
2) Launch apprunner
New profile wizard dialog appears
3) Click on the next button
4) Type in a profile name or leave it at the default name of "mozprofile"
5) Click on the finish button
(You may crash - different bug )
6) Copy your Communicator 4.x IMAPmail to your seamonkey profile (overwrite
existing)
7) Copy your Communicator 4.x Netscape Preference file to your seamonkey profile
8) Copy your Communicator 4.x filter rule file to your seamonkey profile
8) Throw away the prefs.js file that seamonkey created
9) Rename your Netscape preference file to prefs.js
10) Rename your filter rule file as "rules.dat"
11) Move the rules.dat to your IMAP server folder.
ie. User50:mozprofile:IMAPmail:nsmail-5
12) Launch Apprunner
13) Open Messenger
14) Select the Inbox
The IMAP password prompt dialog appears
15) Enter your password
16) Start a new message
17) Address the message to your mail test account
18) Enter in the critera that will tigger the filter
I was filtering on the subject on a particular word
19) Send the message
20) Get Msg.
The message is received in the Inbox instead of being filter to my designated
folder.
Actual Results:
The message is filtered to the inbox instead of the folder I wanted.
Expected Results:
It should have been filtered to my designated IMAP folder.
Additional Builds and Platforms Tested On:
This problem does not occur on win32 or linux IMAP. I tested the builds:
Win32 seamonkey 1999-09-21-13-m11 build.
Linux seamonkey 1999-09-21-08-m11 build.
Additional Information:
Note: filtering does not appear to work under POP3 on win32, linux, or MacOS.
I will log a separate bug.

I tried this - it worked fine for me. I defined a filter with 4.5 to match
sender contains bienvenu and subject contains test, moved the filter file to my
5.0 profile imap server directory, renamed it to rules.dat, and sent myself a
message with the subject "test". The message was filtered correctly.
