145442 - multiple problems with tabbed browsing

Description

1) when opening a new tab, or a page in a new tab, it is done in the background,
even though I have the option unchecked. ie, the tab should open, with focus.

2) tabs will not always close. ctrl-w, close tab from the file or context menu,
and clicking the x do not work.

3) the address bar and apparently left/right arrows do not reflect the
correct/current page until I switch to another tab and then back

I also noticed, that when two tabs are open, ctrl-w will seemingly close the
non-focused tab. However, what really happens is that it is hidden, and
reappears when another tab is opened.
